KASANGA NATIONAL PARK, CRAFT MARKETS, MISCELLANEOUS
GOING BATTY! The largest mammal migration in the world - 10 million fruit bats. They hang around the trees all day and then leave at sunset - covering the sky - to forage and then return again at sunrise. The bats live in equatorial Africa in groups of 5-10000 and all gather here for a couple of months to have a big bat party. BBC was there in the balloon making a documentary.
COLORS, TEXTURES, MOVEMENT: Craft markets offer goods from many places around Southern Africa. These pictures are from a monthly market filled with color, food, smiles, bargaining and fun.
