Autumn is a great time for camping, hiking, kayaking and biking.

October
​4 Oct: Somerset Reservoir
6 Oct: We kayak on Branch Pond with Kate - great Fall color, warm day
8 Oct: kayak down the Battenkill with Ham and Lorna - our first river adventure that has some fast flowing water
9 Oct: attend the GMC Potluck and Robin takes to find giant mushrooms 
13 Oct: precheck and 16 Oct: lead a hike in Tibbett's Forest where Kate finds some good eating mushrooms
14 Oct: bike along the Somerset forest road with Harda's crew
17-20 Oct: We make another trip to North-South Lake where Margie and Hal were going to come with us, but had to cancel when Margie got sick. While there we met some cold and rain, but also hiked up Black Head Mountain and along the Escarpment trail.
29 Oct: hike along the Broadbrook Trail on a beautiful day, where we have to shimmy across a fallen log to cross the river - fun!
November

4 Nov: Bald Mountain
6 Nov: lead a hike up the Dome Trail - nice day, good company
7 Nov: Prospect Mountain hike with Tim and Julie
11 Nov: bike the Ashiwillticook with Harda and crew
​21 Nov: hike with Lin, Margie and Hal
25 - 29 Nov: Trip to LI to see family, Mike and Shirley fix Thanksgiving dinner, visit with all the brothers, do beach walking, take a super windy walk out to the end of Orient Point with Roger and Erin
30: return to Vermont to find a lovely snowfall and do the first ski of the season
December

December started with great snowfall, then didn't do much for the rest of the month.
9 Dec: Ski at Prospect
15 Dec: hike up Mt Anthony
17 Dec: hike up Harmon Hill
24-27 Dec: trip to CT for Xmas with Greg, Jess and Flint
