Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Khmer New Year gave us 5 days off from teaching and we headed to the beach in southern Cambodia. A 4.5 hour bus ride brings us from the city to the coast of Cambodia on the Gulf of Thailand. It's still hot, but less hot than Phnom Penh with white sandy beaches, some sea breeze, beach restaurants, and warm water. 8 teachers from school are savoring being away from the city and outside in nature! We are also luxuriating in the air-conditioning in our bungalow (we don't have air-conditioning in our house in the city so this is heaven for us!)

On Sunday the 8 teachers hired a boat to take us out for the day. We went snorkeling near one of the islands. This was Ann's first snorkeling experience and she's hooked! The trip included another island for lunch and relaxing, then cliff jumping for those so inclined, and then another island for more snorkeling. There is a lot of plastic trash washing up on the beach, but out near the islands the water is clear and clean.
