We scouted this trail for a hike we are to lead later in the month. We found the trail easily - very different when we tried it on snowshoes and got totally off trail!

Sep 15 - Putney Mt Hawkwatch with GMC Terri leading
It was a perfect, sunny warm day and we laid on top of the mountain watching the hawks wing by. There were people there who were official counters, but we were just hanging out and enjoying the spectacle. The day we were there, there were about 1200 hawks spotted, some 300+ monarch butterflies and combinations of other birds. Cynthia came over and met us there.

Sep 19 - Haystack Mountain with Tim
Tim drove us north of Manchester to Pawlett for this lovely hike with a great view at the top. See below the beautiful shag bark tree, the view from the top and the mountain from the bottom.

Sep 21 - Prospect Rock with Lin
After going to the huge tag sale at the rink in Manchester we did this hike with a briskly flowing brook and some color starting in the trees. (The tag sale netted some good bargains for all of us including the old iron bed that Lin purchased and then spent 3 weeks stripping, sanding, waxing...)

Getting the 3 180 pound slates involved 3 men (one much younger!!) and 2 women. (If we sell the house, the table goes with it - I don't know how we'd ever get them ut again!. Then the slates have to be leveled and the table put back together. The pockets are off in Albany being redone.
