PATARA DAY 3: AQUEDUCT TO PATARA VIA SEASIDE ROUTE - 15 km - Following the Red and White Markers
It's our last day in Patara and we decide to start from the Aqueduct again and walk in the opposite direction back to Patara along the seaside route. What a good decision! This was a gorgeous walk along a dirt road following the coast - with ups and downs and great scenery along the way - a perfect last hike. Up until today we had only met 3 people along the hiking trails - one German man by himself and the two German girls, who we mentioned before. Now, on this day, we met a German man who had the "Triple Crown" for having hiked the 3 long distance trails in the US - The Pacific Crest Trail, The Appalachian Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail - those are some looonnnggg distance hikes - 2000+ miles each! We also met another young German couple and then back in town met another German couple who had rented a car and were doing day hikes, and 2 more German girls who decided to stay in the same pension as we were. We ate a pleasant dinner with the 2 German girls who had met up with our other German girls earlier in the day and were told if they met us to say hi from them! Dinner was a boiling hot absolutely delicious vegetable cheese casserole with soup and bread and dessert. We went to bed with very full stomaches and were up early as our driver collected us at 5:00 am for the drive to the Dalaman airport.
