What do you do when your oldest kid, Greg, is turning 50? Contact his wife and concoct a plan for a weekend birthday event. Over the course of a few months it solidified into a fishing trip out of Rhode Island. It couldn't have worked out better - Janet (Jess's mother) rented an beautiful Airbnb with gorgeous views that was big enough for all of us. Greg (Ann's son), Jess (Greg's wife), Flint (Greg/Jess son), Mike (Ann's son), Shirley (Mike's long term love), Janet (Jess's mother), Ann, and Bill (Greg's dad). We walked on the beach, ate good food, had birthday cake and then early, early the next morning headed out to the fishing charter. The October weather was like a warm July day, the winds were calm, the captain and mate friendly and knowledgeable, and the fish were plentiful! It was a great weekend. Ann had contacted all of Greg's relatives and put together a memory, birthday book with lots of photos and contributions from everyone.
